The short answer: judge the embroidery, the panel shape, and the closure, and let Fishgoo's QC set confirm before it ships.

• Embroidery quality. This is the first thing to zoom on. Good embroidery is dense, flat, and cleanly outlined with the right stitch direction; a filler cap shows thin, loose, or slightly misshapen lettering. Font and spacing errors are an instant reject.
• Structure and crown. Structured caps should hold their shape with a firm front panel; unstructured ones should sit soft but even. A crown that looks collapsed or lopsided in QC will look that way on your head.
• Brim. Flat brims should be flat, curved brims evenly curved. Check the underside stitching and that any sticker or size tag matches the style.
• Closure. Snapback plastic, strapback buckle, or fitted band — confirm it matches the listing and that a fitted size lines up with your head measurement.

Sizing is simpler than apparel but not automatic. Fitteds come in true sizes, so measure your head circumference and match it. Adjustable caps fit most, but check that the closure has enough range if you're at either end.

Color accuracy matters here more than you'd think — a cap is a single block of color, so any drift between the listing and the real thing is obvious on your head. Blacks that read slightly grey and bright team colors are the ones to scrutinize in the QC photos.

Beanies and knit hats have their own read: check the knit density, the ribbing stretch, and whether any patch or label is cleanly attached. A loose, thin knit stretches out fast.
